Letter to Customers

Dear RWD#8 Customers,

We are writing to inform all customers of changes, some upcoming and some current. The Board values you and wants to provide the best service we can offer. RWD#8 now has a cellphone as the business line. Calls, voicemail, text messages and emails are all welcome. Some of you may have noticed that the mailing address has changed from Gas City to Humboldt.

We have a new meter reading system that has been a challenge. Sadly, not everything has merged seamlessly. This system upgrade also means new dials and meters. If you notice any discrepancies please reach out immediately. I would also like to remind everyone to make sure that we have your current contact information. Please call or text the office number 620-380-6153 any email addresses and phone numbers that need updated.

Gavin Jaro has been training with Dewayne Jarred. He has also attended training provided by the state. You may see him at times without Dewayne. He will attempt to call before arriving to work on meters or lines but cannot guarantee advance notification.

If you are mailing your payment please have it postmarked by the 20th. The Board is currently working on setting up bank drafts through Community National  Bank & Trust. This service will be a cost saving measure for the District. CNB&T has multiple locations for convenience. This option will also allow personal service for anyone needing help or who may have questions. You will NOT NEED a CNB&T account to participate with the service. It will be offered at no charge to you. The RWD#8 Board has decided to add a convenience fee of 3.5% to all credit card payments. These payments are processed through the PAYCLIX site. The District has previously been absorbing these fees. This payment option will remain available. If your current payment method is your checking account you will need to use the CNB&T bank draft service or remain on PAYCLIX & pay the 3.5% fee.

We are projecting a start date of November 1st for both changes to be ready to introduce to everyone. RWD#8 now has a website for the district! The website address will be published on the billing cards and on all electronic communications. The address is https://allenrwd8.myruralwater.com. This will also allow Dewayne and Gavin to notify everyone about work being done or temporary shut off disruptions. Please subscribe to the alerts and newsletters on the website.

The District Office will attempt to contact you for multiple reasons, such as: in the event of a leak repair, work occurring in your area, if your account shows a higher-than-normal consumption once we receive the readings from our readers. Please make sure we have your current contact phone number on file.

Lastly, we have acquired two new board members. Kevin Beeman and Will Ramsey. They both will add knowledge and we appreciate their willingness to serve.
